After finally seeing The Dark Knight, I had but one thought:


(Seriously, Heath Ledger's amazing performance as the Joker aside - and I can't believe I'm saying that, because I'm not a Joker fan, but Ledger was phenomenal - I just don't see the big deal about this movie.)

When I saw it two months after its debut, I thought it was a cool film. That's it. Not some zeitgeist of modern filmmaking many a fanboy has put forth.

It's a decent summer film, but (and I'm going to sound like a giant jerk) I doubt there would have been this level of hype had Heath Ledger not died.
