Holy Delighted Dad!

So the kiddo's current DVD Obsession is Batman: The Movie. Clearly, this makes me happy, and it's been really fun watching it with him. It's unfortunate, though, that Warner Brothers and Fox still can't work things out enough to get the actual TV show out on disc (Seriously, folks, you'll make money on this! Get your acts together!), and that it isn't showing anywhere on cable at the moment, so all we really have access to is that one disc, which even I'll get sick of before too long.

But at least there's YouTube, where I found this, the screen test of Adam West and Burt Ward, giving us the first glimpse of the show we'd come to know and love:

And for a glimpse of what could have been, here's the screen test for alternate Dynamic Duo Lyle Waggoner and Peter Deyell:

Clearly they chose correctly.

And yes, Mrs. Cooper would be quite upset if she found out what you and the boy were doing on those "alleged fishing trips," Bruce! And it sounds like NBC's Chris Hansen wouldn't be terribly cool with it, either.

Cora (my lovely daughter) used to ask for this movie constantly when she was almost three. I remember bringing home Beauty and the Beast and Dumbo one night and asking her if she wanted to watch them. She only had eyes for Adam West at that age.
